Waypoints are fast travel points in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. But you have to find each of them before they unlock as destinations.

Our Echoes of Wisdom waypoint guide has a map for all 41 waypoint locations in the Hyrule overworld including the Suthorn Prairie, Suthorn Forest, Hyrule Field, Eastern Hyrule Field, Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, Hyrule Castle, Eldin Volcano, Faron Wetlands, Hebra Mountains, and Eternal Forest regions..

All waypoints in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

There are 41 waypoints in the Echoes of Wisdom overworld (that we’ve found, at least). The various waypoints that you find inside dungeons aren’t included on the map above.

Waypoints aren’t named — they’ll only say “Warp” when you hover over them — but you’ll find them throughout the starting regions like Suthorn Prairie, Suthorn Forest, Hyrule Field, Eastern Hyrule Field, Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, and Hyrule Castle, and then the second half locations like the Eldin Volcano, Faron Wetlands, Hebra Mountains, and Eternal Forest regions.

How to use waypoints in Echoes of Wisdom

Waypoints are fast travel locations first and foremost. You’ll find them at most towns and outside of most dungeons. Unlocking them all just means you’re better prepared and can save time when a quest or side quest inevitably sends you gallivanting back and forth across the map.

Also, as an aside, while it looks like the waypoints reveal the map when you visit them, that’s not the case. The map fills in as you visit each section of it. The waypoints don’t have anything to do with that part.

As you explore, you’ll actually find two kinds of waypoints (that look the same) — overworld and dungeon. Overworld waypoints are the ones that will let you bounce back and forth across the, well, overworld map — and there’s usually one near a dungeon or rift. The waypoints you find inside dungeons are more for fast travel within the dungeon.

When you’re in a dungeon and you look at your map, you can hit left on the D-pad to switch back to the overworld map. That means you can fast travel out of a dungeon to any overworld waypoint. But you can’t fast travel into a dungeon. To do that, you’ll have to head to the closest waypoint, re-enter the dungeon, and then fast travel between the in-dungeon waypoints.
