Pokémon Go is hosting a comfy sleep-themed event, “Slumbering Sands,” from June 7-12. The event boosts the rate of seeing Pokémon associated with sleeping, whether it’s the snoozy Slakoth or the sheep Pokémon Mareep.
Slakoth and its evolutions are also getting special costumed versions for this event — they’re wearing little blue visors! Catch experience throughout the event is also doubled.
Komala, the sleeping koala Pokémon, is also available shiny for the first time.

Below we list all the Pokémon Go “Slumbering Sands” event features, including the paid Timed Research, Collection Challenge, and spawns.
Pokémon Go ‘Slumbering Sands’ event Timed Research and rewards
There are actually two Timed Research sets available. The one named after the event is a pretty standard research set, but you have to pay $1.99 for it. The second one is based around using the Pokémon Go Plus+ hardware to track your sleep. If you don’t have the Go Plus+, you won’t be able to complete this research.
Is the “Slumbering Sands” paid research ticket worth it? While the value is worth it, we’d only recommend spending money on this if you really want the Komala backpack cosmetic.
